GALLEY FAMILY — Rudolf Galley and Sons Greenhouses on Clinton Street in the Gardenville section of town has a history going back to the late 1860s. Gustave Galley (1844-1908) was the family patriarch, emigrating from Germany while he was head caretaker of the Imperial Estates there. He originally purchased land for his own greenhouse at Old French and Union Roads. Pictured is the Galley family, standing right to left: Andrew, Conrad, Rudolph, John, Paul, Gustave and Jacob.
