The sixth annual Crossroads Bluesfest to fight teenage homelessness, featuring several Western New York blues bands, will be held Saturday, June 16, at the “Chicken Coop Grove” Veter- ans of Foreign Wars Post 8113, located at 299 Leydecker Road.

Doors will open at 2 p.m. with blues music beginning at 2:45 p.m. Anita West of 97 Rock will host various rocking blues groups. The scheduled lineup for this year includes Blues Daddios, Rod Horning Project, Doug Yeomans and Jony James Band, with special guest Hayden Fogle.

The event also includes a basket raffle. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Plymouth Crossroads in Lancaster. Plymouth Crossroads is a 501(c)(3) transitional housing shelter that provides a safe place to call home for abused, runaway and homeless young men age 16 to 20.

The program is designed to not only provide shelter for these young men, but to help them get enrolled in school or a GED program and find local employment.

Plymouth Crossroads also provides extensive case management and group meetings to teach important life skills that are essential to the residents’ success in society.

Since its opening in 2011 it has helped more than 150 boys to avoid becoming homeless.

Presale tickets are available for $10 and may be purchased online at www.crossroadsbluesfest. weebly.com or by calling 393-3906. Tickets will be $15 at the door.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses. Donations are also requested for the basket raffle.
