Travel softball squads seek additional players

A pair of Clarence-based travel softball teams are looking for a few extra players to fill out their rosters for the 2018 season.

The 12U Clarence Red Devils-White softball team remains in need of both a pitcher and a positional player, while the 10U Clarence Red Devils are searching for three additional players. The teams are open to players regardless of residency.

The 12U team will play in the NFL Gold division and will take part in at least six tournaments — three of which will be out of town.

Players on the team will have membership to the Sports Performance Park, which will include hitting, pitching, catching and fielding instruction with SPP’s experts twice a week from November 2017 through April 2018. Weekly practice will be held at Clarence’s indoor facility —which has a turf infield and multiple hitting stations — at no additional charge.

For more information on the 12U team, contact Tim Sykas at TSykas@IPS.US or 984-1587.

Tryouts for the 10U team, meanwhile, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, and from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, August 20, at Main Street Park, 10405 Main St. For more information on the 10U team, contact Anna Greco at 901-5674.
