PAPER CUTS — “Paper Cuts,” an exhibit scheduled for the Burchfield Nature and Art Center gallery in August, was canceled due to the Burchfield building closure. The exhibit has been relocated to the Gyda Higgins Art Gallery at Fox Run, 5689 Big Tree Road in Orchard Park.

The exhibit will be on view from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, from Tuesday, June 27, to Friday, Sept. 1.

Exhibit organizer Dave Reichard is one of 12 artists in the “Paper Cuts” show and is a volunteer with the Burchfield.

The exhibit will feature traditional German scherenschnitte, Polish wycinanki, Victorian paper lace cuttings, multi-layered paper creations and works based on a fusion of paper cutting and watercolors. The show will feature the work of artists from Western New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont.

An opening reception for “Paper Cuts” will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29. For more information, call Michelle Bermingham at 662-5001.

SUMMER FUN — There’s still time to register for the West Seneca Youth and Recreation Department’s summer programs, offering children a fun and active option.

Until Monday, spots are available in both the Summer Day Camp and Summer Fun Half-Day Camp programs, offered through the town.

For the half-day camp, sessions will run for two hours, two days a week, providing recreational activities outside. This program is contingent upon the weather and will be canceled if the weather is deemed unsafe for a day. Registration is $65 for residents with a valid ID card, and $75 for nonresidents.

To register, visit the Youth and Recreation Department’s office, located at 900 Mill Road, Room 210, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is closed between 1 and 2 p.m. Call 674-6086 for more information.
