American Legion Post 735 seeks volunteers

West Seneca American Legion Auxiliary Post 735 will hold an information session for those interested in learning more about volunteering at the VA Medical Center, community volunteering, helping with unit activities or fundraising. The auxiliary will meet at the Post Home Hall, 35 Legion Parkway, across from the town library, on the first Wednesday of every month. Woman’s Club welcomes members

The West Seneca Woman’s Club is seeking new members. Women who reside in the Southtowns and are 18 years old or older are welcome to attend monthly meetings held the second Monday of the month. The club meets at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 1475 Orchard Park Road. The meetings start at 7:30 p.m. The club enjoys socializing and supporting community service events. Ebenezer Seniors see Buffalo Greyhound

The Buffalo Greyhound Adoption group will visit the Ebenezer Seniors on Friday, Jan. 6, for their monthly meeting. Buffalo Greyhound will bring a dog or two to meet the group, and offer information on the past racing dogs who now need good homes. Greyhounds prefer peaceful surroundings, soft-spoken people and are politely reserved with strangers, leaning against their owner’s leg rather than approaching people they don’t know. The Seniors meeting is at 1 p.m., with Greyhound introductions at 1:30 p.m., at the Ebenezer United Church of Christ, 630 Main St. For more information, call 674-4566.

Boy Scout Troop 735 seeks new members

Boy Scout Troop 735 of West Seneca is seeking new members. New members must be at least 11 years old or have completed the fifth grade. Troop members enjoy camping regularly, outdoor activities, scout skill training, and community service. Those interested may contact Scoutmaster Tim Cych at 821-0352.

Mitochondrial disease support groups offered

Mitochondrial disease support groups, day and evening meetings will be offered for free in both the Northtowns and Southtowns. Participants learn about mitochondrial diseases and to network with affected families and individuals. Call or email for dates and times.
