Outdoor marketplace lists July 17 events

West Seneca’s new Main Street Marketplace, sponsored by the Western New York Federal Credit Union, returns from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17. The farmers’ and food producers’ market features nearly 30 vendors Thursday evenings through Sept. 4. The event takes place on the grassy hill at the corner of Union Road and Main Street, next to West Seneca Town Hall. Weather permitting, week nine entertainment will feature the Nickel City String Band.

Library holding computer training class

A Microsoft Excel 2007 intermediate hands-on computer training class will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the West Seneca Library, 1300 Union Road. Building off the Excel Basics course, this class will teach you how to customize a spreadsheet through formatting as well as inserting charts. Registration is required.

Zoo employee to speak at Ebenezer Seniors

Donna Fernandes will talk to the Ebenezer Seniors about what goes on behind the scenes at the Buffalo Zoo at their monthly meeting Friday, July 18, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, 630 Main Street. The meeting is set for 1 p.m. with Fernandes scheduled to speak at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call 674-4566.

Drive-thru chicken BBQ set for St. Teresa’s

St. Teresa’s will be holding a drive-thru chicken barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the parish center’s lot, 33 Mineral Springs Road, West Seneca. Pre-sale tickets are available after all masses and from the rectory 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call 822-0606, extension 3. Pre-sale tickets are $9 and can be purchased until July 19. Tickets will be $10 on the day of the barbecue.

Elderwood offers tips from master gardener

Elderwood Assisted Living at West Seneca, 580 Orchard Park Road, will host master gardener Connie Oswald Stofko, at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 24. Stofko, publisher of Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com, will present “45 Gardening Tips in 45 Minutes,” sharing some of her favorite gardening tips. This event is free and open to the public. St. John’s holding community dinner

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is holding its monthly community dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, at 3512 Union Road, West Seneca. The meal of barbecue hamburgers, German potato, salad, and lettuce salad, is free, but organizers will accept any free will donations.
