Daniels Restaurant opens under new owner

Scott Donhauser, owner and executive chef, has reopened Daniels Restaurant in Hamburg. The restaurant, which has been in business for 23 years, is housed at 174 Buffalo St. Donhauser was previously the executive chef at the former Daffodils and Frog Hair. Menu items include roasted lobster tail, crisp duck breast, filet mignon, roast tenderloin of veal, creme brulee tiro and banana foster cheesecake. Diners can choose from the main menu or the fixed price menu. Daniels opens at 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and is open for special events on Sundays and Mondays. Learn legal, financial planning for dementia care

The Alzheimer’s Association is offering a free class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Alzheimer’s Association, 2805 Wehrle Drive in Williamsville. The class aims to help families navigate the legal and financial complexities of dementia care and features attorney Judy Cuzzacrea Wagner of Harris Beach law firm. Topics covered will include making legal plans that fit your needs, how to find legal and financial assistance, practical strategies for making a long-term plan of care and government programs that can help pay for care. East Hill Foundation taking grant applications

The East Hill Foundation is accepting grant applications for its Aug. 1 deadline. The foundation is seeking applications from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that serve the Western New York community by providing basic human services such as food and shelter for the needy.
