.Thank you to the town’s highway department for promptly providing a picnic table at the Mill Road park shelter. The beautiful weather last weekend brought many people to the park, and they were able to enjoy their food and conversation at the table. We have such a lovely park; it’s a perfect setting to enjoy nature watching. Thank you again to the town highway depar tment.

.To the people of Erie County, I’d like to suggest that instead of laying off more teachers, we get rid of all the superintendents we have in the county. The towns should consider joining together to become one county school district and getting rid of the dead weight in school administration.

.The editorial from April 8 should be a must read for every West Seneca resident. Great job; congratulations on your writing.

.The citizens police academy sounds like a wonderful program, and I am not opposed to wonderful programs. However, with the economy the way it is currently, it seems like it’s something that is not a necessity in our town. Nothing is free, and that money could be spent providing mandatory services.
