Clothing donations will be accepted through the Western New York Federal Credit Union. Western New York Federal Credit Union and the West Seneca Food Pantry have partnered to collect and distribute winter clothing for families who are living in Western New York after being displaced by hurricanes in Puerto Rico.

According to the credit union, there are more than 400 families that have come to Western New York with simply the clothes on their back after leaving their homes in Puerto Rico. And, more than 41 elementary-aged children have enrolled at bilingual School 33 in South Buffalo.

As cold weather approaches and significant snowfall becomes inevitable, the following items are desperately needed:

• New socks and underwear for children ages 5 to 14

• New or gently used hats, gloves, boots, scarves and blankets for all ages

• Gift cards for Walmart, Kmart, Tops or Wegmans

Drop-off locations for the Winter Donation Drive include:

Tuesdays — from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the West Seneca Food Pantry, directed by Mary Lou Dietrich, 51 St. David’s Drive

Monday through Friday — from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon, at the Western New York Federal Credit Union, 1937 Union Road

The Winter Donation Drive is happening now through Sunday, Dec. 31.

Cash or check donations will also be accepted, with checks made payable to WNY FCU.
