Uber Zone established at New Era Field

An Uber Zone has been established at New Era Field for the upcoming Buffalo Bills season, according to a release from the ride-sharing service.

The zone, indicated through both a special in-app feature and customized Uber signs on location, is located outside the stadium on the southeast corner of Abbott Road and Big Tree Road.

The lot will help ensure that fans are able to easily connect with their driver and begin their ride home as quickly and efficiently as possible, according to a news release.

The new service began Thursday with the Bills’ preseason contest against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fans using Uber are instructed to open the app while leaving the stadium and request their desired vehicle option: UberX or UberXL. Fans should then head to the Uber Zone, and drivers will call or text riders upon entering the lot to inform fans which row their vehicle is located in, the release said.

“As the 2017 football season begins, we look forward to offering Bills fans an easy and convenient way to get to and from New Era Field and cheer on their team,” said Uber spokesperson Danielle Filson.

Erica Muhleman, Pegula Sports and Entertainment’s executive vice president of business development, said new Uber riders can get their first ride, up to $15, for free by using the code BUFFALOBILLS15 when they sign up to ride.

The location of the Uber Zone at KeyBank Center will be announced at a later date. It will be active for all Buffalo Sabres home games, along with Buffalo Bandits games, and concerts and events at both KeyBank Center and Harbor- Center.
