West Middle invites sixth-graders to August orientation

Incoming West Middle School sixth-grade students are invited to a student orientation program from 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the school, 395 Center Road.

Students will be able to pick up their schedule, get a tour of the school and attend informational sessions about getting involved and being successful in middle school, as stated in a press release from the district. A complimentary hot dog lunch for all students will be provided by the Parent Teacher Student Association.

Parents and guardians are invited to participate in a parent orientation program from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. The school is also encouraging students and parents to bring school supplies as there will be time after the sessions to set up lockers, the release said. The building will close at 5 p.m.

The Parent Teacher Student Association will be selling locker ladders, memberships and spirit wear during the event, and the music department will have order forms available for performance polo shirts.

School nurses will be available to answer any questions.
