Komen luncheon kickoff slated for April 10

The Western New York affiliate of Susan G. Komen will celebrate its ninth annual kickoff luncheon for the 14th annual Race for the Cure on Thursday, April 10, at the Hyatt Regency, 2 Fountain Plaza, Buffalo. Established in 2001, the program funds lifesaving programs for women and men whose breast health and breast cancer needs are unmet. The annual kickoff luncheon is Susan G. Komen’s opportunity to recognize the two groups that make Komen’s mission a reality: the sponsors of the Race for the Cure and the recipients. The event is co-chaired by Carolyn Lipomi and Nicole Swift. Tickets for the luncheon are available online at www.komenwny.org or by contacting the local office, 332-2481, by Thursday, April 3.

BNI networking breakfast to offer marketing advice

BNI: Buffalo/Niagara will host its Million Dollar Meeting from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, at Protocol Restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, Williamsville. The meeting will feature guest speaker Executive Director Jerry Graczyk, who will discuss how to empower business and increase sales force by using word-of-mouth marketing. Guests will have the opportunity to network with more than 200 business professionals. Coffee and continental breakfast will be provided. The cost is $10. Seminar to teach marketing through social media

The Small Business Association and Buffalo Niagara SCORE will hold a free marketing workshop from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at the Medaille College main building auditorium, 18 Agassiz Circle, Buffalo. Learn how to grow a business through marketing with email and social media in an interactive seminar discussing key concepts of marketing. Registration is required.
