Spc. Adella Carter, formerly Kirchmeyer, of West Seneca, is scheduled to return to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., after being deployed to Afghanistan. Carter was deployed in November 2010 serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She is a licensed practical nurse with the U.S. Army Reserve’s 1982nd Forward Surgical Team, activated from Niagara Falls. She has served more than three years in the military.
