Dog Ears Bookstore, 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo near West Seneca, will begin a new season of the Fourth Friday Poetry Series at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27.

Each session includes featured readers and open reading slots in a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for first-time poets who would like to try out their work before a friendly audience.

Friday’s event will feature two readers, Josh Smith and Fred Whitehead. A $2 donation will support educational programs offered by the bookstore.
