Trinity School slates roast beef dinner, auction
Trinity Christian School, 146 Reserve Road, will host its annual roast beef dinner and Chinese auction from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 1. All proceeds will benefit the school. Donations for baskets and gift certificates will be accepted until Friday, April 30. Historical Society opens doors to community
The West Seneca Historical Society and Museum, 919 Mill Road, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and the first Sunday of each month. Also, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month. The Historical Museum houses various artifacts dating back to the mid-1800s during the Ebenezer period. Call 674-4283.
Ebenezer UCC to host rummage sale, car wash
Ebenezer United Church of Christ, 630 Main St., is hosting its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1. A car wash and cookout will also be held that day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A 50-cent admission is suggested, and proceeds will support the church’s youth mission trip program.
West Seneca library sets annual book sale
The West Seneca Public Library will host its annual book sale until May 1 at the Kiwanis Center, 50 Legion Parkway. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. A special bag and box sale will be held on Saturday only. Compact discs, DVDs and VHS tapes will be available.
Southtowns Fitness Center to host annual run/walk
The Southtowns Fitness Center, 2745 Seneca St., will host its “SFC Race for a Cause 5K Run/2-Mile Walk” in support of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of West Seneca at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29. Steak roast dinner offered at VFW Post 8113

Jazz festival to feature well-known saxophonist
The West Seneca Central Music Department will host jazz saxophonist Kris Jensen as the featured guest artist for the 17th annual Jazz Festival 2010. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the West Senior High School auditorium, 3330 Seneca St. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $3 per person through the jazz ensemble directors or by calling Terri Izzo, district music coordinator, at 677-3150. ‘Griefshare’ meetings held at The Tabernacle

Memorial Golf Raffle scheduled for May 1
The Monsignor Nash Council of the Knights of Columbus, 261 South Legion Drive, will host its annual Jim and Joan Brogan Memorial Golf Raffle from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 1. The cost is $20 and includes beer, food and pop and a chance to win from a list of thousands of dollars in golf prizes. A Chinese auction and other raffles will be held throughout the day. East Middle garage sale to benefit Relay for Life
East Middle School, 1445 Center Road, will sponsor its third annual garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, to benefit Relay for Life of West Seneca. West Middle School plans ‘Sign of the Times’

Travel group sponsors trip to Yankees game
The Blessed John XXIII Travel Group is sponsoring a trip to Toronto to see the Toronto Blue Jays play the New York Yankees at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 6. Historical Society plans trip to WWII museum
The West Seneca Historical Society is sponsoring a trip to the World War II Museum in Eldred, Pa., on Friday, May 21. Buses will depart at 9 a.m. from Southgate Plaza and return about 4 p.m. The cost is $35 per person, including the bus fare, driver’s tip and museum entrance fee. Lunch at Sprague’s Restaurant will follow the tour, but the cost is not included. Only 29 spots are available, so it is first-come, first-served. YMCA sponsors family fun at Camp Weona
The YMCA is sponsoring a family getaway for Memorial Day weekend, May 29 through May 31, at Camp Weona.
